Monuments of WW1 - Ypres - The hills of the “Westhoek”- Veurne.
This tour takes us along different WW1 monuments and cemeteries (Vladslo, Tyne Cot) to Ypres.
Free lunch in the town centre.
From Ypres the tour continues through the hills of the “Westhoek” (Kemmelberg, Zwarte berg) and on the French side of the border (Mont des Cats) to the lovely town of Veurne, before returning to the hotel.
The Flemish Ardennes - following the trail of “the Tour of Flandres” (Ronde van Vlaanderen)
Enthusiasts of this famous cycling race will enjoy this tour, which takes us past some highlights of “the Tour” in the hilly countryside of the Flemish Ardennes.
Be ready for some short but steep tracks on real Flemish cobblestones.
Tour to the North of France: Cap-Blanc-Nez - Wissant - Cap-Griz-Nez - Ambleteuse - Cassel
This tour takes us via the highway straight to Calais, where a scenic route starts towards Cap-Blanc-Nez, Wissant and Cap-Gris-Nez with nice sea views and white cliffs.
When the weather is fine, the white cliffs of Dover (UK) are visible.
The tour continues towards Ambleteuse (Fort Vauban).
Lunch in Ambleteuse.
On the way back we drive through the hilly inland of Nord-Pas-de-Calais to mount Cassel, before returning to the hotel.
Visit to Bruges – driving along the creeks in Zeeland (Holland)
This tour will bring us into the centre of Bruges (the Venice of the North) where you will have some time to have a look around in this medieval town.
The tour then continues into Holland with wide views over fields and creeks.
We will have lunch in a rather special museum café called the “Koekoeksnest” (Cuckoo’s Nest).
