DmD 2019 - Tours

We have three guided tours for you. They are “back to basics” with no visits to paid attractions, just a rideout.


  • We will ask you to register for them in Paignton.
  • Runs will be made up of 10 bikes, and will start as soon as 10 are assembled.
  • Please make sure you have full petrol tanks at the start.

Run A - Cornwall

A long run directly out to the Cornish coast via Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor for coffee with King Arthur.

Returning along part of the A39 Atlantic Highway down to Bodmin, then swing across to the Saltash Bridges.

The last leg runs through the picturesque South Hams area.

Length: 176 miles/283 km.

Run B - Exmoor

A run up to the North Devon coast.

Picking up the river Exe in Exeter, we will follow it towards it’s source on Exmoor. Next, a ride up Porlock Hill, followed by a run through a spectacular valley.

The return is through mid Devon and over East Dartmoor.

The steepest A-road in the United Kingdom, approaching 1 in 4 (25%) in places.

Run C - Dartmoor

Home to the famous prison and, of course, The Hound of the Baskervilles.

A gentle run starting with a photo opportunity at the Saltash and Tamar bridges, Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s rail bridge dates from 1859, the road bridge from 1961 (although it was rebuilt in 2001).  

We will then have a stop in Cornwall for coffee. Next along the Eastern and Northern boundaries of Dartmoor to Princetown for lunch.

On the return leg, there is an option to visit  Buckfast Abbey a working Benedictine monastery. Here you will find a magnificent church, beautiful gardens, and a nice tea room. Also a chance to buy the famous Buckfast Tonic Wine in the shop.
